Advantages and disadvantages of air-cooled air compressors.
Due to the different cooling methods, their air characteristics may also vary
Currently, the cooling methods for screw air compressors on the market are mainly divided into air-cooled and water-cooled air compressors. Due to the different cooling methods, their air characteristics may also vary. Let's mainly discuss air-cooled air compressors and their main advantages and disadvantages.
The screw air-cooled air compressor uses a fin cooler, blowing in cold air with an axial or centrifugal fan, and exchanges heat with hot lubricating oil and hot compressed air through heat exchange to achieve cooling.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of screw air-cooled compressors?
1. Advantages of screw air-cooled compressors:
Easy to use, no additional auxiliary equipment and resources are needed; the compressor can be used after being powered on and connected to the pipeline.
2. Disadvantages of screw air-cooled compressors:
① Space issues should be considered during installation. To avoid hot air circulation, a large heat dissipation space needs to be left (the installation space for the compressor is relatively large), and a wind deflector may need to be installed if necessary, suitable for most compressors below 40 cubic meters.
② If the environment is not clean, the heat dissipation surface can easily be covered with dust, affecting the cooling effect. Therefore, at regular intervals, compressed air should be used to blow away the dust on the cooling surface of the cooler.
