Precautions for changing oil in screw air compressors!

Mixing oils from different brands and different grades of air compressors is prohibited.

1. Before changing the oil, check the operating conditions of the air compressor: ambient temperature, ambient gas, ambient humidity, and whether there is high temperature. Then check the temperature control valve and intake valve for carbon buildup, and listen for unusual noises from the motor and main unit.

2. Mixing oils from different brands and different grades of air compressors is prohibited. When replacing air compressor oil, the old oil must be completely drained. It is strictly forbidden to use a topping-up method.

3. If no abnormalities are found after inspection, drain the oil under pressure and then add 1/2 of the new oil. Run for 15 to 60 minutes to drain completely, then fill with new oil for normal operation. If there is sludge or carbon buildup in the air compressor system, a soaking method can be used to remove sludge and carbon, followed by cleaning with a special cleaning agent. After cleaning, add cleaning oil and run for 200 to 300 hours, then drain the cleaning oil and add new oil for normal operation. Otherwise, it may not only damage the performance of the oil additives, but also lead to carbon buildup again, and even cause safety accidents.

4. When changing the oil, the air filter, oil filter, oil-gas separator, and pipeline filter should also be replaced if they have reached a certain service life. Then check whether the one-way valve, temperature control valve, and pressure differential sensor are intact.

5. The aging of oil can be accelerated by the influence of equipment, environment, and mechanical impurities. To prevent carbon buildup and coking, during use (every 500 hours), check the acid value, viscosity, etc. of the lubricating oil; do not rely solely on color to judge the quality of the oil.

6. The temperature of the air compressor oil is too high. It is essential to find the cause and not to remove protective devices just to maintain production.
